Hi there…

I’m Reesha Powell, your Executive Director.  If you have any questions about your membership or its benefits please email me  at support@nvpolice.org.  I will be happy to assist you.

Our Board of Directors…

Dan Gordon

President

Dan Gordon has been a police officer since 1998, starting his career in Delaware before relocating to Nevada in 2007 and beginning his tenure with Nevada State Police-Highway Patrol Division.  Dan is currently a commercial motor vehicle enforcement officer with NSP.  He has worked as a highway patrol trooper, M.A.I.T., Public Information Officer, Research and Planning Unit officer, Investigation Division Detective, S.E.D. Unit, PSTO Coordinator (CTM), D.R.I.V.E. Program Manager, RADAR Coordinator and Instructor at the DPS Academy.

Dan has been a member of NPU (NHPA) since 2007 and served as a Representative from 2011-2017.  Between 2017-2022, he served as Vice President and the chair for the Labor Relations Committee.  In August 2022, Daniel assumed the role of President of the Nevada Police Union.  He hopes to continue the growth and expansion of the NPU membership as well as see the Union grow stronger each year and to have future successes.

James Mortimore

Department of Wildlife

James (aka Jimmy) Mortimore was appointed to the Board of Directors to represent the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) members on the Board of Directors in November 2022.    James has been a Game Warden with NDOW for approximately 4 years and is currently based out of Carson City.  James has been a member of NPU since 2019 but became more involved by serving as a Union Steward and as part of the Collective Bargaining Committee.    He accepted the position of Board member with the idea to improve working conditions for all state police officers and to better understand the rights officers are entitled to as an employee and to protect those rights.  James enjoys being in the outdoors hunting, fishing and camping whenever he gets the chance.  He knows where all the birds, big bucks and best fishing holes are so feel free to shoot him a call or text if you need help planning your next trip.

Michael Bradford

Supervisor-At-Large

Jennifer Johnson

Parole and Probation

Jennifer Johnson works for Parole and Probation in Las Vegas and is currently in the Interstate Compact Unit.  She is a firearms instructor and recently became a MACTAC instructor.  Jennifer has been in law enforcement and a member of NPU for 5 1/2 years.  Prior to her state service, she worked in private corrections and was a substance abuse counselor.  Jennifer became an NPU steward about a year ago and was appointed to the Board in August 2022 due to a vacant position.  She also serves on the Collective Bargaining Committee and the Labor Relations Committee.

Jennifer became a steward as she wanted to get involved and advocate for members.  Jennifer would like to see NPU get through the “growth stage” where NPU is fighting big and small battles regarding the CBA and getting Departments to understand and honor it to the point where more focus is on representation as needed and member appreciation events.

When she isn’t working or fulfilling her NPU duties, Jennifer enjoys going to concerts, being in the mountains, camping and traveling.

Daisy Kollasch

Treasurer - State Police

Daisy has been employed with the Department of Public Safety since August 2020.  Prior to transitioning to a career in law enforcement, she worked for 12 years as a strength and conditioning coach for college athletics at Fresno State).  Daisy is currently assigned to the swing shift with Reno traffic.

Daisy has been a NPU member since the academy (August 2020) and has a desire to learn more about NPU and become more knowledgeable about the agency and ways she can help.

Jaime McGuire

University Police Services

Jaime McGuire has worked in Law Enforcement for 16.5 years. She currently works the graveyard patrol for the University Police Services for the University of Nevada, Reno. Previously, Jaime spent 5 years as a General Detective, 2 years as an undercover Narcotics Vice Detective in a regional unit. Jaime’s additional duties include: Team Leader on RPD Critical Incident, Negotiations Team, CBRNE Operator on Regional CLEAR team, Honor Guard member, Peer Support Team, FBI Northern NV JCARD Personnel, Police Training Officer. Additionally, Jaime is happily married and a proud mother of 6.

Jaime has been a member of the Nevada Police Union since 2019, and has served on the NPU Board of Directors since joining. Jaime also serves on the Collective Bargaining Agreement Committee.

Jaime’s goals for NPU is to help pioneer the first Collective Bargaining Agreement and ensure fair and equal treatment for all officers in the great State of Nevada.

Kyle Groth

State Parks

Kyle Groth was elected into the Nevada Police Union Board of Directors in August 2022.  Kyle has been a law enforcement ranger for about 11 years with NV State Parks. He has been the lead EVOC instructor for POST for the past several years, and helps out with other agencies’ EVOC programs whenever he can.

Kyle has been a member with NPU for about a year, but is a big believer in what NPU is doing to try to improve working conditions for state officers.  Kyle states “I’m proud of our wide range of officers, agencies and responsibilities throughout the state and hope I can make a positive impact for fellow officers”.

Luis Villanueva
